Raw research findings for this medication. Mostly single studies, not curated or confirmed robust.

About Velpatasvir

What it is

Velpatasvir is a hepatitis C NS5A inhibitor that works against all genotypes. Combined with sofosbuvir in one daily tablet (Epclusa), or with sofosbuvir and voxilaprevir (Vosevi), it cures most hepatitis C infections in 12 weeks.

How genes come into it

Velpatasvir is excreted mostly unchanged in bile, with a small part broken down by CYP2B6, CYP2C8 and CYP3A4. The gene study listed looked at the IFNL3/IFNL4 region, which mattered much more for older interferon treatment; with velpatasvir combinations its effect on cure is small. There is no CPIC or DPWG guideline.
