We want ReadYourDNA to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, motor, auditory, and cognitive differences. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we work to improve the site over time.
WHAT WE DO
Semantic HTML and ARIA attributes so screen readers can announce controls and their state.
Full keyboard operability - interactive controls (menus, expandable sections, toggles, forms) can be reached and activated without a mouse.
Visible focus indicators and meaningful link and button text.
Color choices intended to meet AA contrast, with information never conveyed by color alone.
Responsive layouts that reflow for zoom and small screens.
Some complex data visualizations (for example the karyogram and certain charts) are still being improved for full screen-reader support. If you hit a barrier there, contact us and we will provide the underlying information in an accessible form.
TELL US ABOUT A PROBLEM
If you have trouble using any part of ReadYourDNA, or need information in a different format, email support@readyourdna.com and describe the page and the problem. We will work with you to provide the information or function you need.
