Glucocorticoids are the corticosteroids modelled on cortisol, acting on the glucocorticoid receptor to calm inflammation and the immune system. They include prednisone, prednisolone, methylprednisolone, dexamethasone, hydrocortisone, budesonide and fluticasone, used as tablets, injections, inhalers, creams and drops across asthma, arthritis, autoimmune disease, allergy, transplant and cancer care. This page collects studies on glucocorticoids as a group.
Studies of glucocorticoids as a group looked at GLCCI1 and CRHR1 for response to inhaled steroids in asthma, at natural-killer-cell receptor genes (KLRC1, KLRD1) and HLA-E for response in arthritis, and at ABCB1 and HSD3B1. The findings come from a few studies, and there is no CPIC or DPWG guideline.
