Raw research findings for this medication. Mostly single studies, not curated or confirmed robust.
Fludarabine is a purine analogue chemotherapy medicine: inside cells it becomes a false DNA building block that blocks DNA synthesis and repair, and it is especially toxic to lymphocytes. It has been used for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and some lymphomas, and today is used mostly before stem cell transplants and CAR-T cell therapy to suppress the immune system. It is sold as Fludara, among other names.
Fludarabine is cleared mainly by the kidneys after being activated inside cells. Most gene studies listing it were done in people with leukaemia treated with several medicines at once, and looked at genes such as CYP2E1, CYP2B6 and CXCL12 for response and side effects. The findings come from single or a few studies, and there is no CPIC or DPWG guideline.

PharmGKB weighs all studies of a variant and rates how strong the evidence is, from 1A (strongest) to 4.
CYP2E1 rs2515641: Level 3. Toxicity: Leukemia, Myeloid, Acute. 1.
SULT2B1 rs2302948: Level 3. Toxicity: Leukemia, Myeloid, Acute. 1.
CYP2E1 rs2070673: Level 3. Toxicity: Leukemia, Myeloid, Acute. 1.
SLCO1B1 rs4149056: Level 3. Toxicity: Leukemia, Myeloid, Acute. 1.
Studies of how well it worked in people carrying a variant.
Study findings and evidence levels: PharmGKB (CC BY-SA 4.0). Guidelines: CPIC and DPWG, as bundled in PharmCAT. Most studies were done mainly in people of European ancestry.
