Raw research findings for this medication. Mostly single studies, not curated or confirmed robust.
Dicloxacillin is a penicillin antibiotic designed to resist the penicillinase enzyme many staphylococci make. Taken by mouth, it treats skin and soft tissue infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus (not MRSA) and streptococci, and is the US counterpart of flucloxacillin. It is sold under several generic names.
Dicloxacillin is cleared mainly by the kidneys. The gene studies listed looked at ABCB1, partly because dicloxacillin speeds up the production of drug pumps and enzymes and can lower the levels of medicines such as warfarin. Flucloxacillin's link to HLA-B*57:01 and liver injury has been studied mainly for flucloxacillin itself. There is no CPIC or DPWG guideline.

PharmGKB weighs all studies of a variant and rates how strong the evidence is, from 1A (strongest) to 4.
ABCB1 rs1045642: Level 3. Other. 2.
