Grazoprevir

Raw research findings for this medication. Mostly single studies, not curated or confirmed robust.

About Grazoprevir

What it is

Grazoprevir is a hepatitis C NS3/4A protease inhibitor, given combined with the NS5A inhibitor elbasvir in one daily tablet (Zepatier) for genotype 1 and 4 hepatitis C, including in people with advanced kidney disease.

How genes come into it

Grazoprevir is taken into the liver by the transporters SLCO1B1 and SLCO1B3 and broken down by CYP3A4. The gene studies listed looked at SLCO1B1 variants for its levels; medicines that block these transporters, such as ciclosporin, raise grazoprevir much more. There is no CPIC or DPWG guideline.
