Galcanezumab is a biologic medicine, a monoclonal antibody that binds CGRP, a signalling molecule released during migraine attacks. It is sold as Emgality.
As an antibody, galcanezumab is not broken down by drug-processing enzymes. Studies have looked at genes of the CGRP receptor complex (CALCRL, CRCP) and at CALCR and COMT for who responds. The findings come from a few small studies, and there is no CPIC or DPWG guideline.

PharmGKB weighs all studies of a variant and rates how strong the evidence is, from 1A (strongest) to 4.
COMT rs4680: Level 3. Efficacy: Migraine with Aura, Migraine without Aura. 1.
