Desloratadine is a non-sedating antihistamine, the active breakdown product of loratadine. It blocks H1 histamine receptors and is used for hay fever, year-round allergic rhinitis and chronic hives. It is sold as Clarinex and Aerius, among other names.
Desloratadine is turned into its main breakdown product by UGT2B10 and then CYP2C8. Some people, more often of African ancestry, are slow metabolizers of desloratadine with much higher levels, which the US label describes; this was later traced to UGT2B10. The studies listed here looked at FCER1A and HRH1 for response and side effects. There is no CPIC or DPWG guideline.

PharmGKB weighs all studies of a variant and rates how strong the evidence is, from 1A (strongest) to 4.
FCER1A rs2298805: Level 3. Efficacy: Urticaria. 1.
HRH1 rs901865: Level 3. Toxicity: sedation, Urticaria. 1.
Studies of how well it worked in people carrying a variant.
